The History

Right before you reach Harrison Hot Springs you will pass through the quaint Harrison Mills. Here you will find the Kilby Historic Site which is a haven for those who love history. The little town features a General Store Museum dating back to 1906. You can see an impressive collection of items from the 1920s and 1930s from when it was a thriving community. Plus, it’s on a rural farm that has goats (which you can feed), pigs and chickens. Don’t forget to grab a slice of quite possibly the best pie on your way out.

The Hot Springs

You can’t go to Harrison without checking out the hot springs. Go for a dip in the mineral hot pools that are part of the Harrison Hot Springs Resort or use the public hot springs pool for a relaxing activity. Soaking in hot springs helps to relieve pain and reduce stress so it’s a win-win!

The Accommodations

Look out onto the pristine lake while lounging on the beach or walking along the main drag. Go for a swim, take out a kayak or you can even rent an epic motorized Bumper Boat loaded with water guns to shoot your opponents from up to 10-feet away.

Hiking is good for the soul and Harrison has got it all. If you’re looking for an easy nature walk, check out Spirit Trail. The 1 KM loop takes you through the forest with clay and wooden hand-crafted masks adorned to trees along the way. It’s a magical trail that showcases not only the beauty of nature but the work of a local artist. If a good workout is what you need, tackle the Harrison Grind. The 7 KM route has an elevation gain of 620-metres but you will be rewarded with jaw-dropping panoramic views once you reach the top.

The Waterfalls

Chase waterfalls like this one in Sasquatch Provincial Park. Nothing beats a hike through trails to a cascading waterfall. The park is over 3,000-acres and is home to a series of pocket lakes, scenic mountain ridges and majestic second-growth forests.

The Biking

It’s one of the most beautiful spots for biking in the province. If you’re looking for a leisurely ride, check out Agassiz to ride along the flat scenic country roads. For more of a challenge, you can rent out mountain bikes from the Harrison Beach Hotel and hit the trails. Sasquatch Provincial Park has lots of trails suitable for exploring by bike.

The Water Park

It’s like a ‘Wipeout’ course in the middle of the lake. The inflatable floating water park is equipped with various slides and platforms to catapult yourself into the water. You’re going to want to spend the whole day here.

The Sasquatch

Harrison is a quirky little town that is all about being ‘Sasquatch Country.’ As you walk around the village you will see many references to this—big footprints cemented into the sidewalks, a Sasquatch figure you can sit on a bench with and an entire museum dedicated to the Sasquatch at the visitor centre.
